Kathleen Nanima Rambler Alyawarre, b. 1972
Kathleen Namina Rambler b. 1972 is one of the younger generation of talented artists from the Eastern desert community of Ampilatwatja. Kathleen paints the country of her Father and Mother and where she grew up, near Barrow Creek. "This is the painting of my Father's country, where I grew up. When we would go hunting, we always climbed those hills. We would take the kids hunting too and take photos of the hills." Kathleen's use of bright colours and beautiful attention to detail expresses the love and joy she has for the country closest to her heart. Her work is notable for her use of perspective and the juxtaposition of land and sky as well as for the inclusion of native and other animals hiding amongst the rock formations and other features of the landscape.
