From Nature : Spring Salon 2017

Overview

Discover the connection between art and nature this spring at Whistlewood Gallery. Our Spring Salon exhibition, From Nature, features Aboriginal and select contemporary Australian art selected for its celebration of spring - honoured in Aboriginal societies as the season of renewal and rebirth.

With 40+ paintings, barks and carvings from Arnhem Land, the Pilbara, the Kimberley, Utopia, the APY Lands and the Central & Western deserts, the exhibition also features new work by leading contemporary FNQ artists Rosella Namok, Samantha Hobson, Fiona Omeenyo and Claudine Marzik and Victorian-based David Beaumont.

Crafted with either natural materials or brilliant colours, all works show the deep connection these artists have for their country and its ongoing regeneration.

OPENING: Saturday September 23 at 3 pm: Curators Floor Talk by Susan McCulloch OAM and Emily McCulloch Childs.
