Overview

In 2003, mother and daughter writers and publishers Susan McCulloch OAM and Emily McCulloch Childs were encouraged to work together by Anmatyerre artists the late Barbara Weir and her daughter Charmaine Pwerle to upate and publish the fourth edition of McCulloch's Encyclopedia of Australian Art -  and later their guide book to First Nations art  Contemporary Aboriginal Art. Subsequently they published books with several Indigenous art centres and in 2009, established Everywhen Art. . 
As a tribute to Weir and Pwerle and in celebration of all First Nations women artists and International Women’s Day, Everywhen is presenting Women Celebrating Women.

• Debra Nakamarra and Katherine Nakamarra  (Papunya Tula Artists) 

• Candy Nakamarra, Doris Bush Nungurrayi and Maureen Poulson Napangardi  (Papunya Tjupi Arts) 
• Djul'djul Gurruwiwi and  Gurrundul Marawili (Buku-Larrnggay Mulka)  
• Joyrene Ngwarreye Holmes and Kathleen Namina Rambler (Artists of Ampilatwatja) 

• Betty Bundumurra  (Waringarri Arts + Kira Kiro Artists) 
• Anita Pumani, Beverly Downs and Emma Singer  (Mimili Maku Arts) 

And a range of other women artists the McCullochs have written on and/or exhibited over 35 years. 
CURATORS FLOOR TALK Saturday March 22, 2.30 pm 

Join curators Susan McCulloch OAM and Emily McCulloch Childs for an insightful floor talk on the 30 + works in the exhibition Women Celebrating Women. Discussed will be the contemporary history of First Nations women’s art; the regions represented; the stories behind the works and the artists' styles, media, histories and achievements.
