Djul'djul Gurruwiwi Yolgnu, b. 16/12/1965

Djul’djul’s  father was the famous artist Mithinarri Gurruwiwi. Djul’djul, her brother Watjuku and their sister Manany have inherited much painting knowledge and skill. All three artists also share the same Gumatj mother, Duwambu Burarrwaŋa. Djul’djul’s husband is Burrŋupurrŋu (Bruce) Wunuŋmurra, a well-respected yiḏaki player and maker, whose instruments she often paints with Gälpu clan designs. Djul’djul has spent most of her life at Gurrumuru and Gunyaŋara’ and is a very precise and knowledgeable wood carver and painter.
