20/20 A sense of place: Capsule exhibition: New works from Papunya Tjupi

Overview

A richly explorative exhibition of contemporary Australian landscapes by 40 leading artists of diverse cultural backgrounds from around Australia.  

More than 60 paintings, ochres, barks, 3D, works on paper and other media by both indigenous and non indigenous artists. Featuring new works by Peninsula-based artists John Anderson, Miodrag Jankovic and Stephen May, the Kimberley's Shirley Purdie, Gordon Barney, Betty Carrington, Lindsay Malay, Sonia Kurarra and Nada Rawlins, Victorian painters David Beaumont, Neville Pilven and Adriane Strampp, Sydney-based Michael Fitzjames, Charmaine Pike and Sally West, Far North Queensland's Rosella Namok, Samantha Hobson, Fiona Omeenyo, Claudine Marzik and Bagu firemake sculptures, the APY Lands' Robert Fielding, Tuppy Goodwin, Freda Brady, Marina Brown,Rachael Lionel and others, Tasmanian artists Sue Lovegrove and Jillian Catto, Melbourne printmaker Martin King, the Pilbara's Bugai Whyoulter, street artist and printmaker Tom Civil, Papunya Tjupi Arts and more..
