Echoed Moment is one of five dry points in the series titled ‘Glimpse’.
This suite of etchings is shaped by fleeting encounters with the landscape whilst travelling around the southern midlands in Tasmania; these scenes registered peripherally, half-noticed, half-remembered. The works hold traces of these passing views, where memory softens detail and place becomes momentary.
These brief moments to me also point to something larger: the transience of lived experience itself. Just as the landscape slips past and cannot be fully held, so too do moments in life pass quickly, leaving only impressions and echoes. In this way, the works reflect on how small and fleeting our presence can feel within a much wider continuum of time.
