Part of an ongoing body of work celebrating the architectural simplicity of post colonial buildings. ‘Fade into Another’ is a Victorian example of a simple timber building, built in the late 1800’s. Originally a butcher’s, it has been a family home ever since. To me, this house becomes more than a mere structure; it transforms into a vessel of memories, of stories waiting to be unraveled. The painting, a portal to the past, challenges us to reflect on the impermanence of life and those who once called this house their home. Perhaps it once echoed with the laughter of children, bore witness to the joys of celebrations, or stood resilient in the face of life's inevitable storms.
