The story of the old woman singing out for her dog is one that was passed on to Atlanta, from her grandmother on her mother's side, her ganggayi Mabel Juli. In the Ngarranggarni (Dreaming) an old woman sang out for her dog (marranyji, an old wild dingo) who had chased a kangaroo (jiyirriny) across the country known as Darrajayin (Springvale Station). The dog followed the kangaroo into a cave. That old girl followed the dog and called the dog, but the kangaroo grabbed the dog when they were in the back of the cave and held him there. The woman burnt grass trying to find her dog, but he never came out.The old woman is the figure standing up with her stick on top of that hill. The dog and the kangaroo are the two circles and the cave is below. The woman and her dog are still there, in stone in Atlanta and Mabel's country, Darrajayin (Springvale Station). This place is also called White Water.
