The artist dreaming is the Sugarbag or the native bee which produces honey in its hive. In the dreamtime when the Sugarbag was a man he was travelling through the country in the Western Northern Territory near Wave Hill Station and he stopped at a place known as Flatrock. It was here that he was turned to stone. Lots of small rounded rocks (which are the bees) can be found here.
