Charles Blackman
21 1/4 x 13 3/4 in
Country Breakfast is a lithograph taken from an original drawing by Charles. It depicts the gregarious family table, offering the bounty of plenty. In the early 1970's Charles fell in love with rotring pens, a new type of chargeable ink pen with different sized drawing nibs. He loved the direct engagement with the subject and drew every day, finding inspiration in the warm domestic life that surrounded him. The drawings are very precise as he often said "You can't hide behind a line".
