This painting depicts women’s initiation ceremony where senior women gather together to teach their culture & dreamtime stories to their young women. They travel between one sacred site to another depicted by the concentric circles, teaching the importance of each site, their dreamtime songs & dances in the area of the artist’s birthplace. They also teach their young women how to survive & collect bush tucker. 

Naomi often bases her colours on the natural colours of the earth that are found in the Utopia region as well as bright primary colours of the wild flowers. The rich red sand, the clay, and ochres all moving together with the contours of the land.
