Artist's statement:'The Chillagoe caves, outside the township of Chillagoe West of Cairns, lie within the Limestone Belt. An area I travel to on a regularly pace and much of the inspiration for my painting comes from. In this painting the interest lies in the Cave walls deposits called Speleothems. Travertine and Tufa are terrestrial sedimentary rock deposits. Depending how its formed the deposits appear more porous or smoother. My paintings reflect the textured surface of the walls within the caves of Chillagoe."
