Birth date: 1964

Language: Alyawarre

Annie Hunter Petyerre is the daughter of Molly Pwerle and Johnny Ngwarrai Hunter. Annie comes from an artistic family; her mother Molly is a well-regarded painter, along with her three sisters Minnie, Emily and Galya Pwerle. Annie’s siblings are now also artists and well known in their own right.

Annie has been involved in the world-famous Utopia art movement since the 1980s when she was part of the Utopia Women’s Batik Group. She now paints in acrylic on canvas, focusing on women’s ceremonial body paint designs and fine dot paintings of bush tucker, her Country, and Dreamings.
