Wawiriya Burton was one of the founding artists of Tjala Arts at Amata in the APY Lands in the late 1990s and had an important and illustrious career. In this painting Wawiriya has depicted her country. The different colours and designs represent variations in the landscape. Wawiriya's paintings represent a topographical view of her country. Wawiriya was also a Ngankari or traditional healer and had strong ties to traditional culture and practices, demonstrated in the images she painted.
