"I have depicted hills and the country of Texas, otherwise known as 'Nargaroon', in such a way as a bird would see them; from a bird's eye view. I like to use the traditional methods of my people including the strong and bold colour fields, the dotting to outline these, and I like to use our traditional ochre pigments such as red, pink, brown and yellow.
The brown that you see painted through the hills are outlines that take on the shapes I imagine the hills would form from above. I have never seen this country from a bird's eye view, but I can only imagine its beauty."
