Billy Kenda is from Jay Creek in the West Macdonnell Ranges, his mothers’ country. Billy started painting in the Mwerre Anthurre Artists Studio in 2004. His father was a Ngaatjatjarra man from Docker River.- an area known for its meeting of important creation story sites. Billy paints landscapes which are full of texture with a strong sense of country in a graphic style of painting and keen observation of every day life in the Centre such as truck, cars, aeroplanes, helicopters and tourist buses that frequent the region.
