In this painting the artist has shown Kolobarr, the male Antilopine Kangaroo (macropus antilopinus) commonly found in the artist’s country. The female of the species is known as Karurrken. This is the largest macropod species in Arnhem Land, and the second largest in Australia after the Big Reds of the centre.
