Miriam Atkins was born in 1947 in Bulloo Down near Meekatharra, the sister of the late Yunkurra Billy Atkins who also painted with Martumili.
She loves to paint her country which is at the southern end of the Canning Stock Route around Well 9 and down towards Wiluna.

Canning Stock Route
Miriam Atkins was born in 1947 in Bulloo Down near Meekatharra. Miriam is the sister of the late Yunkurra Billy Atkins who also painted with Martumili.
She lives in Newman itself and is very active in the community. She works for Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa delivering cultural awareness to people in town as well as participating in many other community events.
She loves to paint her country which is at the southern end of the Canning Stock Route around Well 9 and down towards Wiluna.
