Julie Brumby was a senior woman in the community of Mutitjulu. The community is closely related to her ancestral country of Kaltukatjara (Docker River), which lies to the west of Uluru. Julie was born at Puta-Puta near Kaltukatjara.⁠

She worked with Maruku Arts at Mutitjulu and Walkatjara Art at Uluru.
